Why is it difficult to buy ultra-large forged pipes and bars?

Because large diameter thick-walled seamless pipes are difficult to produce and the manufacturing process is complex:.

1, piercing process: the first step in manufacturing seamless pipe is to pierce the solid cylindrical billet, this process requires high-precision equipment and technology to ensure that the internal and external surfaces of the pierced billet pipe are uniform and smooth.

2,Heat treatment: Large diameter thick wall seamless pipes need to go through several heat treatment processes, such as normalising, quenching and tempering, in order to improve the mechanical properties and internal organisation of the material during the production process.

3,Precision Rolling: The rolling process of seamless pipess requires highly precise control, especially for large diameter and thick walled pipes, the rolling process needs to ensure uniform wall thickness to avoid internal stress and deformation.
