Cu-ETP Copper Flat Bar CW004A

Cu-ETP Copper Flat Bar (CW004A) is the most widely used copper grade for electrical and industrial applications. It delivers electrical conductivity of at least 100% IACS and a minimum copper purity of 99.90%, making it a reliable and economical choice for power transmission and current-carrying components. Typical applications include busbars, switchgear, transformer components, electrical connectors, grounding systems, and general power distribution equipment.

Known as Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) Copper, Cu-ETP contains a controlled oxygen content of approximately 150–400 ppm. This small amount of oxygen is introduced during the electrolytic refining process and helps maintain excellent conductivity while keeping production costs lower than oxygen-free copper grades. As a result, Cu-ETP has become the industry standard for applications that require high conductivity but do not require oxygen-free properties.

Cu-ETP Copper Flat Bar Applications

  • Cu-ETP (CW004A) is the standard copper grade for electrical and industrial applications, combining ≥ 100% IACS conductivity, good mechanical properties, and cost-effective performance.

  • It is widely used for busbar conductors, power distribution equipment, switchgear assemblies, distribution panels, and transformer windings. Other common applications include railway electrification systems, induction heating equipment, industrial machinery, electrical grounding systems, and electrical connectors.

  • In the renewable energy sector, Cu-ETP is frequently used for solar inverter busbars, wind turbine generator connections, and power conversion systems.

  • Cu-ETP is not recommended for hydrogen or reducing-atmosphere environments at elevated temperatures, or for vacuum, semiconductor, and other applications requiring certified oxygen-free copper.
