Gr2 Titanium Welded Tubes Coils Customized
What is a titanium welded tube?
Titanium welded tubes are manufactured from cold-rolled titanium strip or titanium sheet coils (titanium strip/coil) rather than being produced by drilling or extrusion from solid titanium bars. In industrial production, the most commonly used materials include commercially pure titanium grades such as Grade 1 and Grade 2, as well as corrosion-resistant alloys like Grade 7 and Grade 12 for specific service environments. These titanium strip and coil materials are typically supplied in accordance with ASTM B265 / ASTM B265M standards, ensuring uniform chemical composition, precise thickness control, and excellent surface quality. Such characteristics make titanium strip and coil particularly suitable for continuous forming and welding processes. As a result, Grade 2 titanium welded tubes are almost exclusively produced from ASTM B265-compliant titanium strip or coil materials.

ChinalcoMetal titanium welded tube manufacturing process
ChinalcoMetal titanium welded tubes are manufactured using a series of precise and controlled processes to ensure high weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and long-term performance:
Raw Material – High-quality titanium strip or coil (Grade 2)
Tube Forming – Cold rolling to form the tube with precisely aligned edges for welding
Welding – TIG (GTAW) or laser welding under high-purity argon protection to ensure dense, stable weld seams
Weld Finishing & Straightening – Post-weld shaping, inner seam treatment, and multi-pass straightening to ensure roundness, wall thickness uniformity, and straightness
Heat Treatment (Annealing) – Vacuum or protective atmosphere annealing to relieve stress, restore ductility, and enhance corrosion resistance
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) & Final Inspection – Eddy current, ultrasonic, radiographic, and pressure tests to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy
Standards Compliance – Manufacturing and inspection meet ASTM / ASME requirements
Applications – Suitable for heat exchangers, chemical equipment, power plants, desalination systems, and other critical industrial applications
